At the scheduled time, our professional Starlink installers arrived onsite and mounted the Starlink dish to the determined location based on the result of the Starlink obstructions test. The team mounted the Starlink Standard dish on top of the custom10-foot pole with pipe adapter mount. It provides an optimal installation with clear line of sight to the Starlink signal.
The team neatly routed the 45-meter Starlink cable from dish runs down the length of the vertical pole.They secured to the pole using clamps, which help keep the cable tidy. At the base of the pole, the cable feeds into conduit. From the corner conduit, the cable runs horizontally to the wall up to the indoor location of the Gen3 WiFi Mesh router.
Our team terminated the Starlink cable and connected it to the Gen3 WiFi Mesh router. We securely mounted the router and power supply at the customer’s preferred location to ensure optimal WiFi coverage throughout the home. Finally, we powered on the system, activated it, and configured it with the customer’s personalized SSID and password. We provide a customer a walkthrough on how to use the Starlink App.
Starlink Optimization and Testing
After installation, our team performed a Starlink alignment test to confirm the dish’s proper alignment. The dish must have an unobstructed view to maintain strong and uninterrupted connectivity.
Followed by the basic and advanced Starlink Speed test to evaluate the connection’s performance. The test provides key metrics like download speed, upload speed, and latency.
Speed Test Analysis:
- Download Speed (367 Mbps) – This is a strong download speed, suitable for streaming high-definition videos, online gaming, and general browsing.
- Upload Speed (42 Mbps)– It’s good for video conferencing and uploading file.
- Latency (24 ms) – This latency is good for satellite internet, indicating a relatively responsive connection. Lower latency is beneficial for activities requiring real-time interaction, like gaming or video calls.
It’s important to understand that Starlink may require up to 12 hours to fully establish a stable connection with its satellite network. During this time, the dish is aligning itself, connecting with satellites, and performing system updates. You might notice brief service interruptions or fluctuations in speed as it completes this synchronization process. This is a normal part of the setup, and once completed, you can expect more consistent performance.
