A quad drop is a network cabling setup with four Ethernet ports (or data drops) installed in a single location. This setup typically connects multiple devices like computers, POS (Point of Sale) systems, printers, or network switches. The existing quad drop consists of four labeled network ports (A-31, A-32, A-33, A-34), each linked to a structured cabling system.
Our team moved the quad drops to the new POS counter. We then set up the Starlink Standard dish in the optimal location identified by the Obstruction Tests, where a “good experience” was achieved.
We routed the cables from the Starlink Standard dish through existing conduit paths in the walls and ceilings. The Starlink Ethernet cable was terminated using the network wall plate labeled “Starlink,” which provided a clean, structured connection point for the Gen3 WiFi mesh router.
Our network engineer installed the 1-ft blue patch cords to complete cross-over connections in the MDF. One end of the blue patch cord is plugged into the patch panel port corresponding to the network drop. Then, we connected the other end to the appropriate network switch port to establish the necessary cross-over connection.
Tested and labeled all drops at both ends following the National Electrical Code (NEC).
